  • BLACK GRAM VARIETIES WE EXPORT

    Black Gram is imported from India in a variety of forms, including ADT 1, CO 1, KM 1, TMV 1, and others. The Black Gram exporter in India is required to export goods that are of high quality and follow all national health and safety regulations. The main Black Gram cultivars that are used for export are listed below.

    ADT 1

    The 1965 release of the ADT 1 Black gramme variety is a local Aduthurai selection. From implantation, this cultivar matures in about 80 days. Rainfed grain yield is approximately 450 kg/ha. Black gramme type has a 19.9% protein level, which is high.

    CO 1

    The CO 1 type of Black Gram is a 1968 local Srivaikundam release that is a pure line selection. It takes this particular strain of black gramme 110 days to reach maturity. When irrigated, the grain output is approximately 750 kg/ha and 600 kg/ha when fed by rain. This variety was made available in a rainfed environment.

    KM 1

    Black Gram’s KM 1 variety was first made available in 1977. This cultivar matures from implantation in about 65 to 70 days. When rainfed, the KM 1 produces grain at a rate of roughly 25 kg/ha. This dwarf-type cultivar is renowned for its ability to withstand drought.

    TMV 1

    The Midhi Ulundu and KM 1 cross produced the TMV 1 type of Black Gram. In 1979, this variety was first available. This cultivar matures in 65 to 70 days on average. When watered, TMV 1 produces grain at a yield of about 800 kg/ha. It is said that this type can withstand root rot and is resistant to YMV.

    VAMBAN 1

    Black Gram Vamban 1 was first made available in 1987. This variety matures from implantation in around 60–65 days. This variety’s grain production is around 780 kg/ha when rainfed and 900 kg/ha when irrigation is used. High yielding and YMV resistant, Vamban 1 is a cultivar.

    APK 1

    Black Gram’s APK 1 variation was first made available in 1993. After implantation, this type takes about 75 days to mature. This variety’s grain production under irrigation is approximately 940 kg/ha. The APK 1 is a good choice for cotton intercropping in rainfed circumstances.

    VBN (BG) 4

    Black Gram’s VBN (Bg) 4 variation was introduced in 2003. After transplantation, this cultivar takes roughly 75–80 days to mature. This variety’s grain production is around 780 kg/ha when rainfed and 900 kg/ha when irrigation is used. Yellow Mosaic Virus is not a problem for this cultivar.

    MDU 1

    Black Gram MDU 1 was made available in 2014. After transplanting, this variety develops 70 to 75 days later. When irrigated, this variety’s grain yield is approximately 790 kg/ha. The MDU 1 cultivar has a high yield and is immune to the leaf crinkle virus.

    KKM 1

    Black Gram KKM 1 was first introduced in 2017. After transplanting, this variety develops 65 to 70 days later. This variety’s grain output is approximately 607 kg/ha (rice fallow). High yielding and moderately resistant to YMV and powdery mildew is the KKM 1 cultivar. It is also appropriate for fallow rice.
